Starting from Zero

When I talk about creating multiple streams of income, I want to be very clear about where I started: zero. No trust fund, no family connections in business, no safety net. I grew up in a household where we worried about rent, where “investing” meant putting money in a jar on top of the fridge, and where the concept of passive income was completely foreign. So when I say this is possible for you, I’m not speaking from a place of privilege — I’m speaking from a place of proof.

My journey to multiple income streams started with one: my full-time job in tech. From there, I began to layer. First, I started freelancing on the side, using skills I already had. Then I began speaking at events, which eventually became paid. I created digital resources that I could sell while I slept. I explored consulting, coaching, and content creation. None of these happened at the same time, and none of them were instant successes. They were seeds planted over years that eventually grew into a garden of financial stability I never thought possible.

Breaking the Scarcity Mindset

The hardest part wasn’t the hustle — it was the mindset shift. Growing up in scarcity teaches you to hold on tight to what you have and never take risks. But building wealth requires a different mindset: one of abundance, one that believes there’s enough to go around, and one that’s willing to invest time, energy, and sometimes money into something that might not pay off immediately.
